Problem:

CA Log Analyzer for DB2 for z/OS (PLA) returning messages LAE0040E and LAE0037E attempting to generate REDO DML for UPDATE statements:

LAE0040E Primary key data is incomplete.   A partial SQL stmt will be built.
LAE0037E Unable to generate a full UPDATE type SQL statement for:

Cause:

The PLA job output returns the following messages:

IKJ56228I DATA SET dsname  NOT IN CATALOG OR CATALOG CAN NOT BE ACCESSED

LAE0027E Unable to allocate Image Copy dataset.
         IMAGE COPY : dsname
RETURN CODE: 04, REASON CODE: X'1708'
         SMS REASON CODE: X'0FD6'
         SVC99 INFO     : X'219A'

The Local Primary (LP) image copy is not available to build complete row images due to DATA CAPTURE NONE specified for the table definition.  There is a Local Backup (LB) image copy available.  How to force PLA to use LB image copy to build complete row images for UPDATE statements?

Workaround:

Use Alternate Image Copy mapping to have PLA use the LB image copy.  Please see PLA User Guide section titled 'Using Alternate Image Copy' for additional details.
