CA JCLCheck Workload Automation already provides support for IMS and DB2 validation with the current releases.
There is a particular usage where IMS and DB2 work together.
Support for DB2 validation for IMS batch regions has been added to CA JCLCheck Workload Automation release 12.0 with PTF RO82403 which can be downloaded using you CA Support Online session.
An example of such IMS JCL is shown below:
//MYJOB JOB 12345,HF,MSGCLASS=X,CLASS=K
//S1 EXEC PGM=DFSRRC00,REGION=4M, ,
//DFSRESLB DD DSN=IMS.SDFSRESL,DISP=SHR
//DFSESL DD DSN=IMS.SDFSRESL,DISP=SHR
//STEPLIB DD DSN=IMS.SDFSRESL,DISP=SHR
//IMS DD DSN=IMS.PSBDBD.LOAD,DISP=SHR
//DDITV02 DD *
//DDOTV02 DD DUMMY,RECFM=V
//DFSVSAMP DD DISP=SHR,DSN= IMS.PARMLIB(DFSVSAMP)
//NCDCHKPT DD DSN=NULLFILE,DISP=SHR
where values on DD statement DDITV02 are as follows:
DSNP is the name of the DB2 subsystem
MYCONN is the name of the DB2 connection
MYPLAN is the name of the DB2 plan
MYPGM is the name of an IMS application program
More information about running IMS and DB2 and the description of the EXEC PARM and DDITV02 file can be found at the following IBM links:
Information about the installation of the DB2 interface can be found in the CA JCLCheck Workload Automation Installation and Configuration Guide and with knowledge article TEC470554.
