Problem:

A CA Fast Unload for DB2 for z/OS (PFU) execution is returning PFU0206E message indicating CHCK DSN ROUTINE failed along with CA Top Secret messages TSS7220E and TSS7221E:

PFU0206E - CHCK DSN ROUTINE FAILED - RTNCODE: 04 RSNCODE: 08

TSS7220E 101 J=xxxxxxxx A=xxxxxxx VOL=nnnnnn ACC=READ DSN=vcat.DSNDBC.dbname.tsname.I0001.A001
TSS7221E DATASET NOT ACCESSIBLE - vcat.DSNDBC.dbname.tsname.I0001.A001

Cause:

Site is utilizing VSAM-ID parameter in PFU member of hlq.CDBAPARM to control security access to underlying VSAM data sets.  The VSAM-ID keyword defines the user ID that CA Fast Unload uses to access VSAM data sets directly so that it can natively process SQL statements.

Resolution:

Recommended removal of VSAM-ID from PFU member of hlq.CDBAPARM to allow PFU to utilize the DBM1 address space user ID.  The other option, if the usage of the VSAM-ID parameter is required, would be to discuss with site security administrator to have the CA Top Secret authorization provided for the VSAM-ID ACID to read the underlying VSAM data sets.
