  END OF SYMPTOM DUMP

Environment:
z/OSCA Datacom/DB 15.0 CA IPC 14.0
Cause:

CA IPC Version 14.0 was not up to maintenance.

Resolution:

CA IPC 14.0 PTF RO89534 was the specific solution although the symptoms were different and more varied than RO89534 documented.

Since CA Datacom Datadictionary batch programs DDUTILTY and DDUPDATE use IPC batch, the PTF was required.

Note that the current CA IPC releases have equivalent solutions, as follows:

 IPC       14.0                  RO89534

 IPC       15.0                  RO89477

 IPC       15.1                  RO89915

Additional Information:

In general, it is recommended that all CA IPC solutions be applied.

CA IPC READMEs say:

"All published solutions for CA IPC [version] should be applied after the SMP/E install and before executing the configuration steps. ..."
