The CA Datacom LXX file was INITed as variable blocked with the required block size 32,760:
DBUTLTY with INIT AREA=LXX,BLKSIZE=32760,TSN=00000001,VARIABLE=YES
However, the CA Datacom 14.0 Multi-user (MUF) startup failed with Datacom RC 60(147).
Datacom RC 60(147) means:
Return Code 60 DB CANNOT OPEN THE LOG AREA
(147) TASK LENGTH TOO SMALL FOR LOG BLOCK
When using inactive recovery, the MUF startup option TASKS size must be as large as the Log Area block size.
Either increase the MUF startup option TASKS size value or reduce the Log Area block size by using the DBUTLTY INIT AREA=LXX function.
In this case, the MUF was using inactive recovery and the TASKS size was less than the LXX block size.
Once the TASKS size was increased to 32K (TASKS NumberOfTasks,32K), the MUF started successfully.
Note, the CA Datacom DBUTLTY Guide 14.0, section on INIT LXX, page 495, specifies that with variable logging, the block size must be set to 32760.
