CA AXA Installer deletes all install binaries

Issue:
This is a new installation of CA AXA, there is no other CA AXA instance on the same server.

During the pre-installation task, I've extracted the install binaries into the user's home directory, for example /app/caaxa/.

While going through the installer prompts & options, I accepted the default install path, which is the user's home directory at /app/caaxa. The installer will then detect that  a previous version has been installed, and prompt user to remove the existing version, as a compulsory step to continue. Once I press Yes, it will proceed to delete all the files and folders in the home directory /app/caaxa, which in this case, are the install binaries instead of an actual CA AXA instance.

Environment:
CA App Experience Analytics (CA AXA)
Cause:
The installer detected the bin directory in the install binaries and assumed it is an existing installation, hence proceeded to delete the same before continuing with new installation.
Resolution:
This is an expected behavior as designed. As per the installation guide, it is suggested that the install binaries be placed in a separate distribution directory:
Install on a single node system

Here's an excerpt from the installation steps:

2. Create a distribution directory. For example, $DIST_HOME.
3. Extract the distribution zip file to this directory.
