CA Automic V12 - Alternative MS SQL DB Schema cannot handle databases with '.' in the name

Issue:
Integrating an Alternative MS SQL Server DB Schema for CA Automic V12.1 doesn’t work in case the database name contains a dot “.”

For example: Database is named Automic_12.1, which works in general.
When setting up a separate MQ database, the mqdb_ddl.sql fails with:

 
U00003590 UCUDB - DB error: 'SQLExecDirect', 'ERROR ', '42000', 'Incorrect syntax near '.1'.'
Cause:
The reason is that "mqdb_ddl.sql" cannot handle db names with '.'
Resolution:

Workaround: 
Please do not use dots in your database name
