Ca API Gateway 8.3 to 9.1 Upgrade Steps

Introduction:

Upgrading an appliance gateway from 8.3 to version 9.1, that doesn't have MAG/MAS or OTK installed, is very simple. The key is to make sure to reboot after each patch installed, so we are 100% sure that the patches are loaded properly between each step in the process. 

 

Background:

Upgrades to the CA API Gateway will be made available in accordance to your service agreement.

This section describes how to upgrade a standalone CA API Gateway 8.3 to the 9.1 version. It is strongly recommended that you perform the upgrades across a secure network.

Environment:
Ca API Gateway 8.3CA API Gateway 9.1Appliance Gateway version (Including Virtual Appliance)
Instructions:

FIRST install platform patches for 8.4, 9.0 and 9.1 

Layer7_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v8.4.00.L7P 
Layer7_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v9.0.00.L7P 
Layer7_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v9.1.00.L7P 

After each patch make sure you reboot the gateway.

After the 9.1 platform update, you install application patch for 9.1:


Layer7_v9.1.00.L7P 

Reboot the appliance.


After the 9.1 Application Update,  upgrade DB via ssgconfig menu
