If one was to receive the C1G0301E error message when adding a binary file or object to Endevor, the first thing to check is the type definition.

On the type definition panel is the following field:

   DATA FORMAT(T/B) ===>

If this field is not set to “B” for Binary please set it to “B” and rerun your action.

The “B” does stand for binary and is required for any elements written in a double-byte character set or Unicode.

Something else to consider if dealing with Binary source; define type as FULL IMAGE using no compress and no name encryption.

Finally another consideration for an C1G0301E error - make sure the LRECL of the receiving file is larger than the source.
