Question:

We have installed CA Common Services R14.1 and  when we IPled,  the system didn't start.

We got the error message:

BPXP006E OMVS is waiting for Security Product initialization

Why did we have this error message?

 

Answer:

What is the name of your Top Secret procedure:

1. If it is TSS, you have to run the command:

S TSS to start Top Secret at IPL time for TSS r15.0 and TSS r16.0, Ca Top Secret will start as a subsystem before JES2. 

S TSS,SUB=MSTR at IPL TIME for TSS R14.0, this is valid whatever the CA Top Secret procedure is named.


2. If it is another name, for example PROCTSS when running with TSS r15.0 or TSS r16.0, you have to do:

S PROCTSS,SUB=MSTR

If you don't code it as above, your PROCTSS will wait for JES2 and won't start.
