ISSUE:  BigIP F5 models in Spectrum showing memory threshold of 99% consistently

CAUSE:  Spectrum uses the sysMultiHostUsed (Spectrum attribute id 0x3b71af3) and sysMultiHostTotal (Spectrum attribute id 0x3b71af2) to compute memory on the F5 devices. These attributes are defined in the F5-BIGIP-SYSTEM-MIB as follows:

sysMultiHostTotal OBJECT-TYPE

        SYNTAX Counter64

        MAX-ACCESS read-only

        STATUS current

        DESCRIPTION

                "The total host memory in bytes (not including TMM) for the specified host."

        ::= { sysMultiHostEntry 2 }

sysMultiHostUsed OBJECT-TYPE

        SYNTAX Counter64

        MAX-ACCESS read-only

        STATUS current

        DESCRIPTION

                "The host memory in bytes currently in use (not including TMM) for the specified host."

        ::= { sysMultiHostEntry 3 }

Manually computing memory based on these attribute values shows Spectrum is computing memory correctly according.

RESOLUTION:  No resolution in Spectrum as Spectrum is computing memory correctly based on the values read from the device for the sysMultiHostUsed and sysMultiHostTotal attributes.
