AWI - Naming convention when duplicating objects

Document ID : KB000097946
Last Modified Date : 24/05/2018
Show Technical Document Details
Issue:
When duplicating objects in Automic.Web.Interface (AWI), the new, automatically created names follow no naming convention and seem to be random.

Some examples:
Original NameNew name when duplicating
SCRI.WAIT300SCRI.WAIT.1
SCRI.SNMP.1SCRI.SNMP.2
SCRI.SEND_MAILSCRI.SEND_MAIL.1
SCRI.SEND_MAIL.01SCRI.SEND_MAIL.1
SCRI.PASS_VALUES#1SCRI.PASS_VALUES#.1
Cause:
An issue concerning naming conventions after duplicating an object has been fixed. If the object name contains a number at the end, the number was deleted and replaced with the number 1. This behavior is not suitable for all use cases. The object names are now handled as follows when duplicating objects:

Original NameNew name when duplicating
123123.1
JOBP123JOBP123.1
JOBS.BS2000JOBS.BS2000.1
JOBS.1JOBS.2
Resolution:
Solution: Install the fixed version or a newer one

Automic.Web.Interface
  • Automic.Web.Interface 12.2.0
  • Automic.Web.Interface 12.1.2
Workaround: Rename the objects manually.
