Introduction:
This article gives instructional steps to upgrade agents manually with setup files:
Situation:
  1. Current agent version is old/obsoleted, I have downloaded package for latest version, how to apply?
  2. I have old version of service manager, it's still running, how to install latest version?
Background:
Updating the Agent (OS Agents) is much easier and straight forward than upgrading the Automation Engine.
Fundamental
- We only need to replace the binaries (either by using setup package or manually overwrite)
- config files should be kept for maintaining the current settings
- Transfer key (authorization mechanism) should be renew as the old one should not be accepted for new version.
Environment:
Windows OS
Instructions:
Installation steps:
  1. Backup old versions (best practice): simply stop your agent and rename the agent bin folder to bin_old
  2. Overwrite the binaries: either by executing setup file (Windows Agent) or copy and paste (overwriting bin folder)
  3. Copy the old config to new versions: copy old ini config file to new agent's bin folder
  4. Renew transfer key: On User Interface, go to Client 0, Administration > Agents > right click on your agent > Renew Transfer key
  5. Start your new agent.
Note for upgrading service manager:
- Service manager should be stopped prior to installation
- UCYBSMgr.ini, UC4.smd and UC4.smc should be kept
