Question:

We are working with the APM web services and would like to confirm which web service classes we should use for assets and models.

There seem to be two web service classes that are relevant for assets: "asset" and "hardwareasset".

There are also two web service classes that seem relevant for models: "model" and "hardwaremodel".

Which web services classes should we be using for assets and models?

Environment:
APM all versions
Answer:

The difference between 'asset' and 'hardwareasset' and 'model' and 'hardwaremodel' is that hardwareasset/hardwaremodel are used to manipulate assets and models of the Hardware family specifically.

If you want to manipulate any objects of any other family you should be using 'asset' and 'model' classes accordingly.
