Question:
The client would like to get confirmation that the open zaps for Z/OS 2.3 are compatible with HSM.
f hooks are installed on an Lpar using HSM (without Ca Disk) is it going to be a problem? Can HSM still work fine.
Answer:
Yes, Ca Disk hooks are compatible with HSM and they can be present into the system even if Ca Disk is not used.
You just have to be sure that aside the hooks, the Ca Disk SVC is also in LPA otherwise you will not do IPL.
This is only the requirement to get a unique resident system volume for both HSM or Ca Disk use.
