Issue/Problem/Symptoms: 

When SMP/E is used to implement APARs and PTFs, sometimes errors can result. Examples of these errors are:

2150I ASSEMBLED ORIGIN LOWER THAN START OF PHASE
2145I CSECT ORIGIN NOT ON DOUBLEWORD BOUNDARY

Environment:  

This can happen in a CA IDMS CV when running under any operating system.

Cause: 

The errors indicate a problem with the APAR or PTF, usually because of an error in the download.

Resolution/Workaround:

Most often, these errors can be resolved by using FTP to download the APAR or PTF with these attributes:

1-   binary
2- no crlf
3- no ascii
4- fixed
5- lrecl 80
