Question:
An NCM device family has been created incorrectly and I need to remove this – How can I do this

Answer:
A customer had a scenario where a duplicate NCM device family was created that wasn’t functioning correctly and they needed to remove.
The device family was populated with devices they wanted to remove from the device family first but were unable to do so because when selecting the device family it was unresponsive.
To remove the devices you can use a locater search to bring up the members of the device famiy using appropriate search criteria.
After this you can then remove the NCM device family via CLI by doing the following:
  1. Select the NCM device family > right click and select component detail > attributes tab and note the model_handle
  2. From a bash shell (bash -login) login to CLI using ./connect from the $SPECROOT/vnmsh and run:

  1. ./destroy model mh=<model handle of device>
