This document discusses the procedure for consolidating the reports in the AIF when the primary archive tape is lost or does not exist.
If the archive tape does not exist, CC50J019 will not create CIF file entries for the reports in the AIF that were stored on the archive tape. You will receive messages in the CC50B019 step saying that the tape is not cataloged. Even putting the name of the backup tape in the DPMT987 substitution table does not help. The DPMT917 DD which points at the DPMT987 table is present in the JCL for CC50B019 and CC50B020 steps but is not functional.
Since the primary tape is gone, the archive tape name in each AIF record for all the reports on the primary archive tape will have to be changed to the name of the backup archive name. This can easily be done by running CC50J037 with the name of the backup tape specified. The parm for the job is REPLACE=YES.
After the job runs, you can check the archive tape name in the AIF records for the reports that reside on the tape to verify the name is changed to the backup tape name.
You will see messages at the end of CC50J037 to indicate the old AIF records were deleted and replaced with the AIF records from the backup archive tape. See the example below:
RECOVERED RECORDS : 27
UNMATCHED RECORDS ADDED : 0
DUPLICATE RECORDS : 27
DUPLICATE RECORDS REPLACED: 27
DUPLICATE RECORDS KEPT : 0
AIF RECORDS DELETED : 27
Now, you can run a regular consolidation using the backup archive tape name in the PARM019 in the CC50B019 step.
