If an ampersand symbol (&) is contained within an email, it is displayed in CA Data Protection iConsole as a double ampersand (&&).
If an email contains the text
& CA inc. is a registered company.
Data Protection renders the following.
&& CA inc. is a registered company.
This issue is caused by the RTF mail conversion process.
To fix this issue, CA advises customers disable the conversion of RTF into HTML on the importer.
To disable RTF to HTML conversion follow the steps below:
1. Create a registry key called "Email" under the registry hive below:
2. Create "DontConvertBodyFromRTF" registry under the key
Name : DontConvertBodyFromRTF
Type : REG_DWORD
3. After creating the registry, restart the importer services.
