Introduction:

We are missing alarms on remote sites because Spectrum is suppressing the device and not generating alarms on the upstream devices. This is only happening on devices connected to WA_Link models, and alarms are asserted on the WA_Link.

Question:

What options are there for configuring the behavior of Fault Isolation for WA_Link models?

Answer:

The "LinkFaultDisposition" attribute (0x129e2) controls the behavior of the alarming.

There are three possible options for the "LinkFaultDisposition":

  • BothPortsAndLink (0) - Alarms are generated on both the connected ports and on the WA_Link model (default)
  • PortsOnly (1) - Alarms are generated on the connected ports/ the WA_Link is suppressed
  • LinkOnly (2) - Alarms are generated on the WA_Link model, and the ports are suppressed.
