Sometimes, when running a complex Timesheet report, the report can hit the time limits on what is allowed for an open connection.
This will often present itself as an Error 524 with the text "A timeout occurred".
This is caused when the report spends too much time trying to compile data out of the database.
A workaround for this is to use the email option of the reports. The email option will allow the backend to continue processing the request even though the browser connection has timed out.
Access the report as usual
In the top right hand corner, there is a drop down called "Page Tools"
Click that and choose Email
A modal window will pop up that requests a few parameters such as To, Subject and Message
This is the preferred way to retrieve a report that might take longer than 4 minutes to process.
