Issue:

An Agent is showing inactive in the Workload Automation DE Desktop Client Topology.

Environment:
WADE Agent 11.3.x, Windows/UNIX/Linux
Cause:

The problem was caused by name resolution. WA Agent was not able to resolve WADE Manager host name. The following errors were recorded in the WA Agent transmitter.log file:

cybermation.library.communications.CybConversationConnectException: Unknown host: manager_name

Resolution:

To ensure that WA Agent can successfully resolve WADE Manager's host name (either short name or fully qualified name, depending on how it has been defined in the agentparm.txt file), either add the WADE Manager hostname to the hosts file on the WA Agent machine or update DNS so that the WADE Manager name can be resolved successfully.
