after updating the license file cannot login to admin console (Legacy_Onyx KB Id: 222502)

Our previous license got expired.
Therefore obtained the new license (attached) and placed it in the netegrity/siteminder/license folder.

Broughtup the siteminder UI and tried to login as
SiteMinder (same password as with the previous license).
It returns error

"SiteMinder Administration Server Error. Could not login(Error 3.

Looked into log file.

See error like;

AdminAuth engdeploy08 [18/Nov/2005:10:36:26 -0800] "SiteMinder LoginReject"
AdminReject engdeploy08 [18/Nov/2005:10:36:27 -0800] " SiteMinder" Invalid credentials

Can't I use my previous password/configuration.




I tested and get the same error if I attempt to log in to the console using and incorrect password. You will have to reset the password using the steps below:

1). Check if smreg.exe already exists in c:\program files
2). If not, copy smreg.exe from cd or install folder
3). start -> run -> cmd -> cd to c:\program files
etegrity\site minder\bin
4). smreg -su &ltnew password> on the console.
1). Please note, after you copy file smreg.exe to c:\program files
etegrity\site minder\bin,
2). In Command Prompt, type smreg -su &ltnew password> in the ms-dos console? After you did, try to access to use &ltnew password>.
