Resource enters time into a Timesheet and when the approver looks at the Timesheet, the value the resource entered in each field are multiplied times 8.
This issue is caused when the resource has his/her timesheet settings set to display units in "days" and the timesheet approver has his/her timesheet settings set to display units in "hours". In this example, the user entered a value of 8 for the Timesheet entry, but the configuration is using 'Days'. Then when the approver viewed the 8 days in their configuration set to use 'Hours' the amount is multiplied by 8 hours per day.
For one Timesheet User:
To reset the Timesheet settings, the individual resource should take the following steps:
- Open a Timesheet
- Click the "Configure" link on the bottom of the page
- Under Display Units the resource should select "HOURS"
- Click 'Save' button
For ALL Users:
Alternatively, Timesheet settings can be set by the administrator user for ALL resources. To do so, the administrator user should take the following steps:
- Navigate to Administration, Project Management, Timesheet Options
- Under Display Units select "HOURS"
- Click 'SAVE' button
- Click 'APPLY TO ALL RESOURCES' button
NOTE: By clicking 'Apply to All Resources', the Timesheet configuration for all resources will then be set to the current system settings. If your resources have modified their Timesheet settings individually, any changes they have made will be lost.
