Description:

When starting the CA Unicenter ASM Engine service you may see errors in the system log every 20 seconds for a login failure for nsmadmin. This occurs after changing the nsmadmin password in SQL.

Solution:

When this problem occurs, run the utility asmresetnsmadmin.exe provided in the Unicenter ASM\bin directory to reset the password for the ASM related services. This utility is available with ASM r11.3. For ASM r11.1 or r11.2, please open a support issue to request this utility.
