How to retain FQDN entries in NX.ENV? It seem resetting to host name after patching install. For example,
are set to the host name automatically.
There could be some challenges for retaining the NX.env files after cumulative patch install. And some functions will fail if this is not handled properly.
The reason for this is the universal install will set a lot of NX.env variables to default as if it was installing Service Desk/CMDB the first time. In this tech doc we discuss some best practice that will make the upgrade more smoother for the administrators.
Service Desk/CMDB 14.1, 17.1 on Windows/Linux/Unix
Before install the cumulative patch or upgrade, administrators should have the NX.env file backed up. And once the patch is installed or the upgrade is done, administrators should compare the new NX.env file with the old NX.env file and make the changes necessary. The same applies to the NX.env_nt.tpl file in the pdmconf directory for windows, or NX.env.tpl for Linux/Unix so pdm_configure will not over write the values in NX.env file.
