Question:

What are the steps to enable EEM SDK Debug logging to Autosys?

Answer:

The files we will be working with are located under:

Unix: $AUTOUSER    or /opt/CA/WorkloadAutomationAE/autouser.$AUTOSERV

Windows: %AUTOUSER%  or C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Workload Automation AE\autouser.%AUTOSERV%

Locate the file named: eiam.server.config

Inside the file, search for the parm: ‘LoggerConfiguration’.  This file is the one to modify. Typically, it will be logger.server.config in the same location.

In that file LoggerConfiguration file Look for the section: <root>

For each section, set:

    maxFileSize to 1000KB

    maxBackupIndex to 20

NOTE: values can be of your choice

Sections will be commented out, enable them as needed. For example,

<!-- Uncomment to enable SDK Logging -->

   <!--

        <logger name="SDK" additivity="false">

                    <level value="warning"/>

                    <appender-ref ref="SDK" />

        </logger>

   -->

 Should read as:

<!-- Uncomment to enable SDK Logging -->

    <logger name="SDK" additivity="false">

       <level value="trace"/>

       <appender-ref ref="SDK" />

    </logger>

Look for

       <root>

                <priority value="error" />

                <appender-ref ref="SDK" />

                <!-- <appender-ref ref="Console" /> -->

        </root>

Change error to trace.

The logs should be in:

Unix:

/opt/CA/WorkloadAutomationAE/autouser.$AUTOSERV/out

Windows:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Workload Automation AE\autouser.%AUTOSERV%\out
