Question:
Why am I getting a message in the dashboard view "Invalid User name or password" when adding the alarms view to a newly created Dashboard.
Answer:
The alarms view contacts spectrum, it uses the data source's username/password for Spectrum. So the user viewing the dashboard would need access to the Spectrum Data Source and the user name and password would need to be correct in the Spectrum Data source in CAPC. To check this go to Administration -> Data Sources and click on the Spectrum data source and see if it automatically logs you into Spectrum. If not go to Administration -> Data Sources and edit the Spectrum data source and add/modify the username and password in the authentication section to one that can login to Spectrum.
