Description:

After an upgrade from 8.1FP02 to 12.0.3, along with an associated upgrade to Actuate 9, on an AIX 5.3 system with SSO, There are no issues executing any reports. However, there is an issue converting any report that is being viewed to a PDF document. The following error message is displayed: "12031: An error occurred while converting the page to the requested format. CRITICAL PROBLEM: PDF converter failed to retrieve font information - aborting!" This problem occurs whether trying to view or save the report.

Solution:

This is a defect in Actuate 9 SP1 and SCR#91998 has been filed for this issue. The workaround is to set the "PDFUseFontEncoding" option in the acserverconfig.xml file to false (PDFUseFontEncoding="false"), the encoding won't affect the result of the output.
