Question:

Can Data Object be accessed by different applications?

Answer:

Yes you can access Data Objects in different applications. This includes creating member, getting member values, and setting member values.

The variables stored in a Data Object can be fully accessed across different generations of different applications by coding a fully qualified object name including qualifier, APPL name, and generation in MGRMSG/ESPMGR commands.

EXAMPLE:

DATA_OBJECT DATA1 SETVAR DAVAR1='ABC' ENDJOB JOB SETVAR LINK PROCESS ESP MGRMSG . . . . DATA1.A/APPL.23/MAIN ACTION - SET COUNT(12) RUN DAILY RELEASE JOB1 ENDJOB
