Root Cause: The structure of the history files is different on the agent for AIX 5.x ( ctree format) than on the newer AIX versions 6.x or 7.x ( btree format).

PREREQUISITES
---

- Migration from Aix 5.3 / 5.2 architecture (with the Sysload agent installed) to Aix 7.1 / 6.1 architecture.
- Download the latest supported version of the Agent suitable to you final OS version.
- Download the tool to convert the history files (binary sld_ctree_to_btree) found on ftp://ftp.orsyp.com/public/kit/Performance%20and%20Capacity/SP%20Analyst/v550/tools/


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Installation procedure:
- Uncompress the file spa-tools-v5.50-aix52_aix71-bin.tar.Z in the directory /tools


SYSLOAD MIGRATION PROCEDURE
---

Actions to do on the old environment (Aix 5.3 / 5.2 architecture):
- Stop Sysload products.
- Backup Sysload ini files and history files.
- Migrate to the new environment (Aix 7.1 / 6.1 architecture) according to the documentation from IBM.

Actions to do on the new environment (Aix 7.1 / 6.1 architecture):
- Install Sysload products 5.50 or the latest supported version.
- Stop Sysload products.
- Make sure the Sysload history directory has enough free space to store save files.
- Launch the binary sld_ctree_to_btree on all Sysload history files:
# ./sld_ctree_to_btree -hst_file
- If the machine has a different hostname in the new environment, launch the tool sld_rename.
- Apply the correct access rights to Sysload history files.
- Start Sysload products.
