I have created some new software categories for reporting some applications.
The Discovered Installations under each software record shows a list of machines which have the product installed.
However, the software does not show up in a report based on this category.
The software exists in the All definitions view and the discovered installations section shows the machines that have the software.
A report on ALL software discovered by Heuristic works fine.
However, a report with the category containing the software does not list any software.
The software definition should be linked to the software category for it to work.
- Drill down to Software->Definitions->Categories.
- Right-click the Software Category in question and select 'Organize Category'. Make sure that "Releases" is selected in the 'Type' and click on 'Search'.
- Add the desired software definitions that need to be associated with the software category.
- Click 'Ok'.
Running a report on the custom category with heuristic scan should work now.
