401 Error when attempting to log into Identity Portal

We have a Siteminder integration for Identity Manager and Identity Portal. The configuration was working fully as expected for a short time period. We aren't aware of any changes made to the integration. What could be causing this?

While reviewing the problem we noticed that the directory management UI was used to update the DSAs. This overrode the configuration. The schema sourcing in the management ui was set to default.dxg. This caused the DSAs to attempt to start loading the incorrect schema. Once we updated this to load the correct schema we no longer received the 401 error message.
